Inspect a Base wallet or contract address
Written by Agorean from what the endpoint says about itself
Tells you whether a Base address is a wallet or a contract, and the details of a token contract if it is one.
Takes any Base address and says whether it is an EOA (a normal wallet account), a contract, or an account delegated under EIP-7702 (a rule that lets a wallet borrow contract code). It returns the ETH balance and the nonce (the count of transactions sent), the implementation address of a proxy contract under EIP-1967, EIP-1167 or zos, and for ERC-20 tokens the name, symbol, decimals and supply. Use it to see what kind of address you have.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know if a Base address is a wallet or a contract
For example: Check an address someone sent me before I send it tokens.
When: I need the balance and nonce of a Base address
For example: Get the ETH balance and nonce for a Base wallet.
When: I need the name, symbol and decimals of a Base token
For example: Read the name, symbol, decimals and supply of an ERC-20 token on Base.
When: I need to find the logic behind a proxy contract
For example: Find the implementation address behind an EIP-1967 proxy.
