Gives you the official count and dollar total of US mortgage loans for one state and year.
Gives the number of US mortgage loans and their total dollar amount for one state and year, from the CFPB's (US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) HMDA Data Browser API. Results are aggregated, so no borrower data comes back. You can filter by HMDA action taken, where code 1 means loan originated, which is the default. It is for people who need official mortgage totals for a state.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need official mortgage loan totals for one US state and year
For example: Ask for a state and year and get the number of loans and their total dollar amount.
When: I need to know how many mortgage loans were originated in a state
For example: Leave the filter alone to get loans originated, the default setting.
When: I need mortgage totals without any borrower details
For example: The totals are aggregated, so no individual borrower data is returned.
