Check who is announcing an IPv4 prefix
Written by Agorean from what the endpoint says about itself
Tells you which network is announcing an IPv4 prefix now and whether its RPKI status is valid.
For an IPv4 prefix such as 8.8.8.0/24, this shows the origin AS seen announcing it now across RIPE RIS peers. It also gives the RPKI status for that origin (valid, invalid or unknown), route objects, visibility, and how many more-specific and less-specific prefixes are seen. An invalid RPKI status is a warning sign of a possible hijack, but it is not proof of one. Use it when you need to check who is routing an IP block.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know who is announcing an IPv4 block right now
For example: Enter 8.8.8.0/24 and read the origin AS seen across the RIPE RIS peers.
When: I need to check whether a network's route is RPKI valid
For example: Read the RPKI status for that origin: valid, invalid or unknown.
When: I need to see how many related prefixes a network announces
For example: Count the more-specific and less-specific prefixes seen alongside the block.
