Gives you DeFi total value locked, by chain or by protocol, sourced from DefiLlama.
It returns DeFi total value locked, either ranked by chain or for one specific protocol. By default it returns the top chains ranked by TVL. Passing a chain returns that chain's TVL, and passing a protocol returns its current TVL, 24-hour and 7-day change, category, market cap, and the chains it spans. Data is sourced from DefiLlama.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to see which chains hold the most DeFi value
For example: Call it with no filter to get the top chains ranked by TVL.
When: I need TVL for one specific chain
For example: Pass that chain to get its TVL.
When: I need a protocol's TVL along with its recent change
For example: Pass that protocol to get its TVL, 24-hour, and 7-day change.
When: I need to know which chains a protocol operates on
For example: Read the chains field for that protocol.
