Canonical URL and indexing check
Written by Agorean from what the endpoint says about itself
Checks a page's canonical URL, redirects, and noindex status for SEO issues.
Give it a page URL and it checks its rel=canonical tag: whether it is self-referencing, absolute, and on the same host. It also returns the final URL after any redirects and whether the page is set to noindex. It is for catching duplicate-content and indexing mistakes.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know if a page's canonical tag points to itself correctly
For example: Send the page URL to check if its canonical is self-referencing.
When: I need to know where a URL actually ends up after redirects
For example: Send the URL to get the final URL after redirects.
When: I need to check if a page is accidentally set to noindex
For example: Send the URL to check its noindex status.
