Lists FDA drug recalls, newest first, with status and classification.
Searches FDA drug recall enforcement reports, newest first, with all filters optional. Each record includes the recall number, status, classification (Class I, II, or III), product description, reason for recall, notification mechanism, whether it was voluntary or mandated, the recalling firm's name and location, distribution pattern, and recall and report dates. It is backed by OpenFDA's drug enforcement endpoint and is public-domain US government data.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know about recent FDA drug recalls
For example: Call it to get the newest recalls first.
When: I need to know how serious a recall is
For example: Check the classification field, Class I being the most serious.
When: I need to know which firm issued a recall
For example: Read the recalling firm name and location returned with the record.
When: I need to know why a drug was recalled
For example: Check the reason-for-recall field on the matching record.
