Tells you which hospitals' emergency departments are getting slower or faster over time.
Compares CMS Timely and Effective Care snapshots to compute each hospital's latest-versus-prior change on a measure, defaulting to median emergency-department time, where a higher number is worse. It can be filtered by measure, state, facility ID, the direction of change, a minimum percent change, a minimum raw change, and a minimum sample size. It returns the latest score, the prior score, the raw delta, and the percent change, drawn from CMS Care Compare public records.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know which hospitals' ED performance is getting worse
For example: Filter by direction worse to get hospitals whose measure degraded.
When: I need a specific hospital's change over time
For example: Search by facility ID to get its latest, prior, and delta scores.
When: I only care about meaningful changes, not noise
For example: Set a minimum percent change or minimum sample size to filter out small moves.
When: I need this for a different CMS measure than the default
For example: Set the measure parameter instead of the default median ED time.
