Gives you a historical time series of total DeFi value locked across chains.
It returns historical DeFi total value locked (TVL) across all chains, from DefiLlama, as an aggregate time series. It excludes liquid staking and double counting, so the same value is not counted more than once.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to see how total DeFi TVL has changed over time
For example: Call it for the historical time series.
When: I need a figure that doesn't double-count liquid staking
For example: Use it knowing double counting is already excluded.
When: I need an aggregate across every chain, not just one
For example: Use this all-chains figure directly.
