Reads a domain's DNS start-of-authority record.
It looks up a domain's DNS SOA record: zone start of authority, with the primary nameserver, admin contact email, serial number, and the refresh, retry, expire, and minimum timers, parsed into JSON. It is for checking zone health and detecting changes by watching the serial number.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need a domain's primary nameserver and admin contact
For example: Look up the SOA record to read them straight from the zone.
When: I need to detect when a DNS zone last changed
For example: Watch the serial number across calls to catch a change.
When: I need a zone's refresh, retry, expire, and minimum timers
For example: Read them from the parsed SOA record instead of a raw DNS query.
