Gives you newly cleared or approved FDA medical devices and who applied for them.
This is a bulk feed over openFDA 510(k) clearances and PMA approvals, newest first by decision date, since a new clearance can mean a device launch. It pages up to 1000 rows at a time with a cursor, and can be filtered by applicant, state, product code, pathway (510k or pma), advisory committee, or a since date. Each row carries the applicant, device name, product code, advisory committee, pathway, and decision. It is observational public record, never a recommendation.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know which medical devices the FDA just cleared or approved
For example: Call it with a since date and read the newest rows back.
When: I am tracking a specific company's device pipeline
For example: Filter by applicant name to see only that manufacturer's recent clearances.
When: I need clearances for a specific kind of device
For example: Filter by product code or advisory committee to narrow the feed to that device category.
When: I need to page through more rows than fit in one call
For example: Pass the next_cursor from one page's response into the next call to continue.
