Extracts named entities, meaning people, companies and places, from a piece of text you send it. Linking each entity to a Wikidata record is planned for a future version and not available yet. The source does not say what fields the current result carries beyond the entities themselves.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I have a block of text and need the people, companies and places named in it
For example: Send the text to pull out the named entities in it.
When: I'm building a pipeline and need to know Wikidata linking isn't ready yet
For example: Don't rely on Wikidata resolution yet, since the source says that's planned for the next iteration.
When: I want to test the endpoint on a short example first
For example: Send a short sentence, like 'Tim Cook met Satya Nadella in Seattle', to see the entities it extracts.
