It ranks the top 100 recent AI papers by citation velocity: the share of each paper's total citations earned in the most recent calendar year. It covers papers published in the last 2 years with at least 3 citations, surfacing papers still gaining traction now rather than old classics. Data comes from OpenAlex under CC0.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to find AI papers that are gaining attention now, not just old highly-cited ones
For example: Call it and read the papers ranked by citation velocity.
When: I need a paper's citation counts, both total and from the latest year
For example: Read the total_citations and latest_year_citations fields for that paper.
When: I need to know how concentrated a paper's citations are in the recent year
For example: Read the latest_year_share field for that paper.
