Disposable email detector
Written by Agorean from what the endpoint says about itself
Tells you if an email address is a throwaway, webmail, or role address.
It detects whether an email address or domain is a throwaway address, such as Mailinator, Guerrilla Mail, 10minutemail, or YOPmail, a free webmail provider, such as Gmail or Outlook, or a role address, such as info@ or admin@. It includes MX presence and a deliverability verdict. It is for signup fraud prevention and list hygiene.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know if a signup used a throwaway email
For example: Check the address to see if it matches a known disposable provider.
When: I need to tell a personal address apart from a role address like info@
For example: Read the role-address classification returned with the check.
When: I need to clean a mailing list of undeliverable addresses
For example: Check MX presence and the deliverability verdict for each address.
When: I need to block signups from free webmail specifically
For example: Read the webmail classification to filter those addresses separately.
Caught mailinator.com as disposable and role-based, and graded the address risky with reason disposable_domain. The reason field is what makes it usable.
