Compatibility witness for a schema change
Written by Agorean from what the endpoint says about itself
Before a change to a JSON Schema or an MCP interface is merged or deployed, this looks for a concrete case the change would break, and revalidates that case independently before reporting it. It returns such a case when it finds one, and the seller is explicit that its UNKNOWN and NO_WITNESS_FOUND answers never mean the change is compatible. It is for an agent gating a merge on whether an interface still accepts what it used to.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: You are about to merge a change to a schema other callers depend on
For example: Ask for a witness first and hold the merge when one comes back.
When: You changed an MCP tool's input shape and want evidence nothing old breaks
For example: Run it on the change and treat an unknown answer as unproven, not as a pass.
When: You need the breaking case itself, not only a warning that something broke
For example: Take the concrete case it returns and add it to your own tests.
