It returns a reference list of US equity exchanges and market centers. Each entry includes its name, MIC, operating MIC, and SIP participant id.

For example: Look it up in this reference list.
When: I need an exchange's MIC code for a filter elsewhere
For example: Read the MIC field for that exchange.
When: I need to map a SIP participant id to its exchange
