Color conversion and contrast utility
Written by Agorean from what the endpoint says about itself
Converts colors between formats and checks WCAG contrast, or derives a color palette.
It offers three color operations. The default op=convert takes any hex, rgb, hsl, or CSS color name and returns it as hex, rgb, hsl, hsv, alpha, relative luminance, and the exact CSS name. op=contrast takes a foreground and background color and returns the WCAG contrast ratio with AA/AAA pass/fail for normal text, large text, and UI components. op=palette derives complementary, analogous, and triadic colors, plus tints and shades, from one color.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I have a color in one format and need it in another
For example: Call op=convert with that color.
When: I need to check if text meets accessibility contrast rules
For example: Call op=contrast with the foreground and background colors.
When: I need related colors for a design, not just one
For example: Call op=palette to get complementary, analogous, and triadic options.
When: I need lighter or darker versions of a color
For example: Read the tints and shades from op=palette.
