Finds tickers by free-text search across stocks, crypto, FX, and indices.
It searches for tickers by free-text name or symbol, across stocks, crypto, FX, and indices, with stocks as the default market. You can filter by type, exchange, and active status, and limit the number of results. Each result includes the symbol, name, market, exchange, type, and identifiers, including crypto pairs, FX pairs, and index symbols.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I have a company or asset name and need its ticker symbol
For example: Search that name and read the matching symbol and market.
When: I need to find crypto or FX pairs, not just stocks
For example: Set market to crypto or fx in the search.
When: I need to filter results to a specific exchange
For example: Set the exchange filter alongside your search.
When: I need only active, currently tradeable tickers
For example: Set active=true to exclude delisted tickers.
