Geo-located DNS resolution
Written by Agorean from what the endpoint says about itself
Resolves a hostname from a chosen country to see how its DNS answer differs by region.
Give it a hostname and a country, and it resolves that hostname as if the query came from there. It is meant for comparing how CDNs, geo-blocking, and DNS-based routing treat the same hostname differently by region. The source does not say what fields the response contains beyond the resolved result.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know what a hostname resolves to from a specific country
For example: Send the hostname with a country parameter to get the geo-located resolution.
When: I need to check whether a site geo-blocks visitors from a certain country
For example: Resolve the hostname from that country and compare the result to a resolution from elsewhere.
When: I need to see how a CDN routes the same hostname differently by region
For example: Resolve the same hostname from two different countries and compare the returned results.
