It returns the effective federal funds rate, the Federal Reserve's benchmark policy rate that anchors other US interest rates, as a monthly average in percent. The response includes the latest value, the prior month, the month-over-month and year-over-year change, and recent history. No ticker is needed, and the data is sourced from the St. Louis Fed's FRED database.
