It returns live gas price estimations and base fees for an EVM chain you choose, such as Base or Ethereum. The response includes the base fee, gas price, and priority fee, each in gwei, plus the gas price in wei and a timestamp.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need the current gas price on a specific EVM chain
For example: Pass the chain parameter, like base or ethereum, and read gas_price_gwei.
When: I need the base fee separate from the priority fee
For example: Read the base_fee_gwei and priority_fee_gwei fields.
When: I need the raw value in wei for a calculation
For example: Read the gas_price_wei field.
