Restates an amount from one year into another year's money, for any country in the World Bank consumer-price series going back to 1960. Returns the adjusted amount, the cumulative inflation, and both index values so the arithmetic can be checked. If the target year isn't published yet, it uses the newest year available and says so. Built for contract comparisons, historical pricing, and long-running budgets.
WHEN TO USE THIS
When: I need to know what an old amount would be worth in today's money
For example: Send the amount, the year it's from, and the country to get it restated in today's terms.
When: I'm comparing prices across two specific years
For example: Send both the from and to years to get the amount restated between them.
When: I need to double-check the inflation math myself
For example: Read the cumulative inflation and both index values to verify the arithmetic.
When: I asked for a year that hasn't been published yet
For example: Check the response for the newest year actually used, since it won't invent an unpublished figure.
